Boat cruise to Mount Athos
Even though women are not allowed inside Mount Athos, all visitors (men and women) can admire the magnificent monasteries by cruising along the west coast of Athos peninsula. Daily Boat Cruises, depart from Ouranoupoli (East Coast) and Ormos Panagias (Sithonia).
Varvara Waterfalls
Between the villages Varvara and Olympiada, one can find two amazing waterfalls in a forest full of taxus, alders, lindens, beeches and wild hazels.
Both the location and the feeling of calmness and serenity will make you feel like you have discovered a small paradise.
You will notice the two waterfalls entering the ravine after you have parked your car. It takes a short walk (5-10 minutes) to discover this wonderful place. Both the wooden bridges and the proper marks on the path contribute to the enjoyment of the unique scenery. It is ideal for families with kids who will be thrilled!
Wine Tasting
Oenops Wines is the newest winery in the well-known region of Drama.
It is a unique wine project, producing high-quality authentic wines from
indigenous varieties from diverse terroirs of North of Greece.
In our boutique winery, the guest may enjoy a tour among our amphoras, big oak barrels, concrete, and inox tanks. In addition, private tastings with our oenologists may take place, with wines and local light beverages.

Olympiada beach
Olympiada is an astonishing sandy beach with white, fine sand and a plane-tree forest nearby which is under the protection of the environmental organisation, Natura 2000. There are plenty of typical restaurants, taverns and cafeterias, as well as water sports facilities. Next to the village, you can find numerous little bays and secluded coves where you can relax and enjoy the crystal-clear water by yourselves.
It’s a great choice for families with children!
Ammolofoi Beach
Ammolofoi (pronounced: “I’m all ofee”) beach is the most popular and most beautiful beach of northern Greece.
Located at about 1km from N. Peramos, near Kavala (see maps for details), you will find the 3 km sandy beach of Ammolofoi (In Greek Ammolofoi means sand-dunes).
The thin sand combined with the crystal clear and shallow waters of the sea create a magical exotic scenery.
On the beach you will find many beach bars which offer sun beds, umbrellas and parking all for free. You may enjoy your drink, your coffee or your snack watching the endless blue of the Aegean archipelago.
Ammouliani
A small, majestic island, the unique inhabited in Macedonia, right across from Mount Athos. Around a complex of smaller islands, Drenia, ideal for swimming and diving. Surrounded by the sea breeze and the sense of hospitality offered by the locals, offers many accommodation and entertainment options.
Ferries are leaving from Tripiti for Ammouliani daily.
The walks around the island reveal the traditional houses, the courtyards with the fishermen’s’ nets, small gardens with vegetables and blooming gardens.
